Terms of Service

Last updated: April 29, 2026

1. About FriendMedi

FriendMedi (“we”, “us”) provides Medi, a clinical documentation assistant that transcribes doctor–patient conversations and drafts structured clinical notes for a physician’s review. FriendMedi is currently in private beta. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

2. Beta software, provided as-is

The service is beta software. It is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice, and we may impose usage limits. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy of transcription or generated text, or preservation of data during the beta. Keep independent records of anything you cannot afford to lose.

3. Not medical advice

FriendMedi is a documentation tool, not a medical device and not a source of medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. All output — transcripts, suggested notes, drug-interaction flags, and any other generated content — is a draft for a licensed physician’s review. The treating physician retains full and sole clinical responsibility for every diagnosis, treatment decision, and signed note. Never rely on the service in place of professional judgment.

4. Beta data restrictions

During the private beta, and until we have executed Business Associate Agreements with our infrastructure providers, the service must not be used with real patient data or any protected health information (PHI). Beta use is limited to synthetic or simulated consultations. We will notify you when this restriction is lifted.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • record any person without the consent required by applicable law;
  • submit real PHI during the beta period (see Section 4);
  • use the service to provide care without appropriate licensure;
  • attempt to probe, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the service;
  • share your account credentials or resell access.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the audio, transcripts, and notes you create. You grant us the limited license needed to operate the service — to process, store, and display your content back to you. See our Privacy Policy for how content is handled.

7. Termination

You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, misuse (including submission of real PHI during the beta), or if we discontinue the beta. On termination we will delete your content on request, subject to any retention required by law.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FriendMedi will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the beta service, and our total liability will not exceed the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, during a free beta, may be zero).

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in-app before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
